These directions are for our frozen thin-crust grocery pizza, the one you pick up in the freezer aisle at a Chicago-area grocery store. No ordering needed; it's already frozen and ready to bake. Ordered a pizza fresh from the restaurant to bake at home instead? That's our separate restaurant take-and-bake, which bakes at a different temperature and time.

Baking at Home

Bake your frozen thin-crust grocery pizza directly from frozen. No thawing needed.

Set oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit
1

Preheat to 425°F

Allow 15–20 minutes for the oven to fully reach temperature. A fully preheated oven is essential for a crisp crust.

Place the frozen pizza in the oven
2

Place in the Oven

Place the frozen pizza on a baking sheet or directly on the center rack. Baking directly on the rack gives a crispier bottom.

3

Bake 12–15 Minutes

Start checking at 12 minutes. Done when crust is deep golden brown, sauce is bubbling, and internal temp reaches 165°F.

Remove pizza from oven and let it rest before slicing
4

Rest, Then Slice

Remove with oven mitts and rest 2–3 minutes before slicing. The filling is extremely hot, so resting lets it set for clean cuts.

Tips for Best Results

Oven Thermometer

Many home ovens run hot or cool. A simple oven thermometer ensures you're actually at 425°F.

Don't Rush the Preheat

Give the oven a full 15–20 minutes to reach and stabilize. A cold oven means a soft, undercooked crust.

Pan vs. Rack

Rack placement = crispier bottom. A pan makes it easier to handle and catches any drips. Both work well.

Slicing

Use a sharp knife or pizza wheel. A rocking motion with a large chef's knife works well for clean cuts on a thin-crust pizza.
